The Philanthropic Committee works in conjunction with the Executive Committee to review recipients of funds and proposes a list to membership for approval at the Annual Meeting. From time to time, the philanthropic committee may respond to unusual circumstances of need and present proposals to membership at any monthly meeting for approval, along with a report from the Treasurer about the finances of the club.

Adult continuing education grant
The Utility Club of Lyme is starting a new adult continuing education grant program for Lyme residents or persons who work in Lyme. The grants are to enable persons to pursue educational opportunities which will contribute to their current careers or allow them to take advantage of new career opportunities. There are a limited number of grants of up to $1000 per person, per year.
